Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) will be answering one last call — and according to The Night Agent creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan (The Shield, S.W.A.T.), the fourth and final season, which has begun production in Los Angeles, will give the hero the action-packed send-off he deserves.
Ryan has been laying the groundwork for this ending all along. “Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey,” he says.

Expect some new faces as the story builds toward its final chapter. Titus Welliver, Li Jun Li, Trevante Rhodes, and Elizabeth Lail are among the previously announced additions to Season 4.
Most recently, Season 3 pushed Peter to his limits as he investigated a dark-money network, forcing him to question his alliances and confront corruption at the highest level of government. The Season 3 ending left fans with an array of unanswered questions — no spoilers here, but Ryan previously teased to Tudum that the conclusion was “meant to be a launching pad for Season 4.”
Fans have been alongside Peter for every high-speed chase and bone-crunching action sequence. Season 3 debuted in the Global Top 10, with fans driving Seasons 1 and 2 back onto the list upon the show’s return. In total, the series has spent 27 weeks on the list and reached No. 1 in 87 countries.
“I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans,” says Ryan. “We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.”
