Check the clock(s) — the time has come for Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, a new adaptation of the novel, The Seven Dials Mystery, by the Queen of Crime. Entirely Christie at its core, the three-part series is written by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall (Doctor Who). Now streaming on Netflix, Seven Dials will thrill Christie fans, old and new.

BAFTA Rising Star Award winner Mia McKenna-Bruce (How to Have Sex, Persuasion) leads the cast of the clever mystery as Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, a young, determined sleuth. “Chris Chibnall’s scripts are brilliant, and I’m thrilled to be part of this new interpretation of the iconic Agatha Christie’s storytelling,” says McKenna-Bruce, who was drawn to the project because she loves Chibnall’s writing, the 1920s setting, and true crime, and calls the part a “dream role, really.”

Check out the teaser above, and join the investigation of Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials below — before watching all three episodes of the mystery, of course.

What is Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials about?

England. 1925. At a lavish country house party, a practical joke appears to have gone horribly, murderously wrong. It will be up to the unlikeliest of sleuths — the fizzingly inquisitive Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent (Bruce) — to unravel a chilling plot that will change her life, cracking wide open the country house mystery. A witty, epic, and fast-paced drama from the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie, is brought to life in a thrilling new version for Netflix.

Man in a suit sits at a cluttered desk in a dimly lit office with venetian blinds, holding and reviewing paperwork, conveying a serious and focused mood. Old-fashioned decor and typewriter suggest a vintage setting.

Who is the creative team behind Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials?

In addition to writing the series’ scripts, Chibnall will executive produce the series through his company Imaginary Friends. The series is also executive produced by Suzanne Mackie (The Crown), Chris Sussman (Good Omens), and Chris Sweeney (The Tourist, Back to Life), who directed all three parts as well.

Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials is the first series to go into production under Mackie’s Orchid Pictures banner. Mackie founded Orchid Pictures in 2020 with the goal of bringing stories from both up-and-coming and award-winning writers to the world’s stage.

“I am excited to be bringing Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials to life and to be introducing a new generation of iconic Christie characters to the screen,” says Mackie. “It has been a joy to work with Chris Chibnall in creating this bold, authored, and ambitious vision for the series. Together with Chris Sussman and Agatha Christie Limited and under the masterful direction of Chris Sweeney, we are thrilled to embark on this creative journey. I could not think of a more exciting first project for Orchid Pictures or a more perfect home for this story than Netflix.”

Christie’s great-grandson, James Prichard, executive produces through Agatha Christie Limited, which has managed the literary and media rights to Christie’s works since 1955. “Bundle Brent is one of my great-grandmother’s raft of interesting, humorous, and sharp young female characters,” says Prichard. “To see her brought to life through the words of Chris Chibnall and this production with Orchid Pictures and Netflix is a dream come true. I think viewers will love this world that we have created, and hope for more.”

Andy Stebbing is also on board as an executive producer and Joanna Crow as series producer.
