Terri Thorne (Lauren Lee Smith) thought she had finally bought her dream house, only to return from a work trip overseas to find a handsome, mysterious man, Marcus Keller (Christopher Russell), in her home. It turns out that he’s not an intruder: The police reveal that they’ve both fallen victim to an elaborate real estate scam. After some initial tension, Terri and Marcus agree to team up in order to expose the perpetrator. The more time they spend together investigating, the closer they get, and Terri soon finds herself questioning her carefully laid life plans in favor of the charming Marcus’s carefree outlook.
Every new twist further blurs the lines, and their investigation quickly takes an intimate turn. But the scam artist who duped them, Anne (Diana Salvatore), seems to be at the center of a more convoluted web than Terri anticipated. Are Terri and Marcus just the latest victims in a sinister game? Or do their charming neighbor (Darlene Cooke), their assigned detective (Dillon Casey), and even Marcus’s lawyer (Simon Wong) know more than they’re letting on? The truth is far more upsetting — and murderous — than Terri could have ever known.
