It’s almost time to unlock the final chapter of Locke & Key. The official trailer for the third and last season of the fantasy-thriller series is here, and there are still plenty of mysterious doors waiting to be opened. With portals widening and the end of the world looming, the Locke family must band together to protect their Keyhouse estate.

Based on the comic book series of the same name, Locke & Key follows siblings Tyler (Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones) and Bode Locke (Jackson Robert Scott) who move into their father’s peculiar childhood home after his death. After discovering a set of keys in the house, they learn that each locked door harbors a variety of dark secrets. 

Last April, co-showrunners and executive producers Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill announced the upcoming conclusion of the epic saga. “Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion,” they wrote in a statement. “As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”

Don’t get too sad, though: There are still more lurking shadows to fight off. When one door closes, another opens — and Locke & Key Season 3 is prepared to come out swinging in full force when it drops on Aug.10.
