Searching for your next great adventure? Let In Your Dreams whisk you away to an imaginative realm where whimsical dreams — and maybe a few relatable nightmares — await.

In the animated comedy, which arrives Nov. 14 on Netflix, Stevie (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) and her younger brother Elliot (Elias Janssen) travel to the world of dreams with the hopes of finding the legendary Sandman (Omid Djalili), who will grant them their ultimate wish: the perfect family. As polar opposites, this sibling duo must navigate the absurdity of their shared subconscious together. Along the way, they discover that as long as they have each other, they can face anything — even their worst nightmare.

This magical tale marks the feature film debut of writer-director Alex Woo (Go! Go! Cory Carson) and features a story that hits close to home.

“One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to wake my brother up in the middle of the night and annoy him with accounts of my weird and crazy dreams,” Woo, who crafted the story with Stanley Moore, told Netflix. “When I had the opportunity to make my first feature film, I knew exactly what it was going to be about.”

At its core, Woo noted, the movie “is about the power of dreams and especially the power of dreaming together.”

Erik Benson, who joined the film as co-director and co-writer, was attracted to the story “because it explores that universal idea of searching for perfect moments.”

“We all have dreams of how our life will be, but reality rarely matches up,” he said. “This film is about that tension: how we imagine our lives versus how things actually turn out.”

The film has assembled a captivating voice cast for the upcoming adventure, including Hoang-Rappaport as Stevie, Janssen as Elliot, Craig Robinson as Baloney Tony, Simu Liu as Dad, Cristin Milioti as Mom, Djalili as The Sandman, and Gia Carides as Nightmara.

Tim Hahn and Gregg Taylor serve as producers.

Stream In Your Dreams when it premieres Nov. 14, only on Netflix.
