After going full Dexter in the Part 1 finale of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black Season 2, Charles (Steven G. Norfleet) begins Part 2 with a new problem: Just how will he clean up this mess? Enter Olivia Bellarie (Debbi Morgan), who only has one question for her son: Your first time?

Mm-hmm! In this sneak peek clip from the first episode of Part 2, out March 19, Olivia and Charles, tasked with cleaning up a crime scene, learn that mother and son may have more in common than they’d realized. “Initially, he’s taken aback by her response to his dilemma,” says Norfleet. “But it lands on him … he gets it from his mama.”

Morgan adds, “In a way, Olivia feels like Charles may be more like his mama than she would’ve ever thought. She never would’ve thought he had it in him.”

Charles ended Part 1 chopping up the bodies of the strippers who tried to rob him. When Norfleet first read what his character was getting up to, the actor was here for it. “A person willing to cut up bodies as a way out is a person you shouldn’t cross,” he says.

In the back half of the season, we see Charles relying on his mama to help keep his crimes under the radar. “Charles cares deeply for Olivia,” says Norfleet. “Through all the chaos, it’s a son in need of help, calling his mama.”

Of course, Olivia has no idea what she’s in for when she arrives at his door. “However, Charles is always getting himself in some doggone drama,” says Morgan. “So Olivia feels, whatever it is, it ain’t good!”

Olivia’s wheels start spinning when she finally sees the straight-up crime scene she’s walked into. “If she takes care of getting rid of the body parts, Charles is going to be owing to her big time, and she does plan to collect,” says Morgan.

But when she asks if her son has done this before, it’s as if Charles is seeing his mother in a new light. Says Morgan, “She’s a mama bear if anyone else tries to come for her sons, especially Charles. But Olivia is all about herself first and foremost.”

Norfleet was as blown away by Morgan’s stone-cold delivery of “Your first time?” as his character looks in the scene. “Man, I love me some Debbi Morgan,” he says. “An OG in the acting game. I’m geeked every moment we have together. It’s an honor working with Ms. Debbi.”

As for what’s to come the rest of the season, Norfleet teases, “Tyler Perry is a master at leaving you wanting more. This scene opens up a different dynamic for Charles. I’m hype for people to see!”
