Answer: The only event that brings together Millie Bobby Brown, Jennifer Lopez, Hasan Minhaj, John Cena, Ted Sarandos, the 1999 World Cup champion women’s soccer team, and a variety of the cutest dogs you’ve ever seen.
Question: What is the 2026 Netflix Upfront event?
On Wednesday, May 13, Netflix threw an event that felt like a cross between a class reunion, where everyone was happy to see friends and colleagues, and one long, exciting preview of all the things to look forward to.
Hosted at the Sunset Pier 94 Studios in New York City, the Netflix 2026 Upfront event was an opportunity to preview some of the new films, series, and events that are streaming soon. Highlights included Office Romance — a forthcoming rom-com starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein — as well as news about the renewal of beloved series (like Running Point and My Life with the Walter Boys), plus events that are brand new to Netflix, like the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show!
Lopez and Goldstein opened the presentation with a special clip from Office Romance, and Lopez mentioned that this film might be her “favorite one” she’s ever done. They were followed by Netflix’s president of advertising, Amy Reinhard, and chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, who revealed that Bridgerton Season 5 would arrive in 2027, Dan Levy’s comedy Big Mistakes would return for a second season, and Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups 3 was officially in the works.
Also appearing onstage was Millie Bobby Brown, who noted that she got her “first big break playing Eleven” when she was 11. Then she told the crowd that she’d be heading to Malta soon on screens everywhere when Enola Holmes 3 comes out this summer.
Then there was some line dancing as a nod to the upcoming season of Hunting Wives. As star Brittany Snow told Netflix about Season 2, “We upped the ante a lot, and we turned up the noise a little bit. I don’t know how we did it, but we made it even more wild.”
Next, Florence Pugh shared a sneak peek of her role as Cathy Ames in Zoe Kazan’s upcoming adaptation of East of Eden. She said that she and Kazan had been talking about this project for six years, but “this is the first time we’re letting our baby out there!”
There was also a look at Will Ferrell’s golf comedy series The Hawk and some news about sports coming to Netflix, like more football games and the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show! Plus, Mia Hamm and other members of the legendary women’s 1999 World Cup–winning soccer team took the stage to talk about The 99’ers, the forthcoming biographical drama about their experience. And the Outer Banks crew appeared to celebrate the show’s fifth and final season.
Then came a rousing game of new-to-Netflix Pop Culture Jeopardy!, hosted in this instance by Survival of the Thickest’s Michelle Buteau. The game was played by everyone from Alix Earle (Earle Meets World) to Eric André and John Cena, who’ll be appearing together in the upcoming film Little Brother. The event closed out with appearances from The Four Seasons stars Tina Fey and Will Forte — the latter gave a hint about another bit of breaking news: An official KPop Demon Hunters global tour is in the works.
