In “Hope,” Episode 5 of Live from the Other Side with Tyler Henry, which aired on Oct. 29, the clairvoyant medium hosted a reading with former NFL star Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski and his partner, Camille Kostek, a model, TV personality, and former New England Patriots cheerleader. The couple invited Rob’s older brother Dan, his wife, Brittany Gronkowski, and their friend Zoe, also a former Patriots cheerleader.

Even before Henry stepped on stage to meet his guests, he received two strong impressions — a stiff shoulder and a “Red Sox object,” which he noted in his journal. Turns out, Brittany had brought a Red Sox hat that had belonged to her late father.

But before Henry got to talking baseball, he began the reading with professional football, the sport Rob is most famous for, and an important figure for Rob during his nine seasons playing for the New England Patriots. Henry mentioned a middle-aged man who unexpectedly died from a heart condition, whom Henry described as “a real fun time, like a ‘Hey, meatball’ kind of [guy].”

Rob and Camille immediately identified him as their late friend Dana, one of the first friends Rob made when he relocated to New England. When Dana died of a heart attack, his death played a pivotal role in getting Rob and Camille (who had broken up) back together. Henry tells them that Dana “gives me the sense of living vicariously through your actions,” to which Rob responds, “You’re literally so spot on.”

Rob tells Tudum that during the reading, he was nervous that his friend Dana, who was known for “taking over the whole party,” was going to overpower the live reading and “wouldn’t let anyone else talk.”  “[But] I’m glad we made him take a back seat again,” he continues. “We love him, and obviously he still loves us, coming through and knocking on the door like that.”

Later in the reading, Henry circled back to the Red Sox hat, recalling “a memory [of] someone catching a foul ball.” Brittany says Henry was referring to a Red Sox game they all attended over the summer in honor of her late father, Stanley, who was a huge Red Sox fan. At that game, Brittany and Dan’s children caught a foul ball. “I felt him there,” Brittany says.

Henry also referenced another athletic figure from the Gronkowski family. Rob and Dan recalled that their great-grandfather Ignatius was a cyclist in the 1924 Paris Olympics. The shoulder pain Henry felt before the reading was connected to the brothers’ father, Gordon Gronkowski, who played college football and who they said recently experienced shoulder and arm issues after neck surgery.

Before closing the session, Henry told Camille and Brittany to be mindful of any health concerns that may come up — “a feminine health scare [that] ends up involving ovarian, uterine, cervical [areas].” He also hinted that some of the guests may get involved in something to do with real estate.

The session, which touched upon themes of family bonds, remembrance, and shared connections, left the group in tears. “What this work has shown me is that these memories that we have represent so much more than just their initial value,” Henry told the group. “They live vicariously through our actions, and I believe we don’t live [in] this world alone.”

Rob tells Tudum what he took away from the session was a clearer awareness of how he plans to approach his own life. “I’ve learned that your soul doesn’t die, that you still live on even after you’re done here on earth,” he says. “Live to the fullest extent, because you’re still going to be making impacts … after your time is done here.”
