As Earth rapidly becomes inhabitable after a meteor strike, the Robinson family joins an elite group of humans aboard the spaceship Resolute with the hopes of getting to Alpha Centauri, a nearby planet that they hope will offer them a fresh start. But when robots attack Resolute, many of the survivors must flee in miniships called Jupiters. Will the group be able to reunite and get to the promised land?
John Robinson (Toby Stephens): A former Navy SEAL who is quietly estranged from his wife, Maureen, before their mission. Biological father of Penny and Will, and adopted father of Judy.
Maureen Robinson (Molly Parker): An engineer determined to get her family to Alpha Centauri — at any cost.
Judy Robinson (Taylor Russell): The eldest Robinson daughter, who also serves as a doctor for the family.
Penny Robinson (Mina Sundwall): The middle Robinson child, who struggles to live up to her sister’s success.
Will Robinson (Maxwell Jenkins): The youngest Robinson, who isn’t quite prepared for the realities of a space mission.
June Harris/Zoe Smith (Parker Posey): June assumes her sister Jessica's identity to get onboard the Resolute. After the robot attack, she steals Dr. Zachary Smith’s ID to secure a place on a Jupiter to safety.
Don West (Ignacio Serricchio): A mechanic who has a side hustle as a smuggler.
Robot (Brian Steele): An alien robot who quickly bonds with Will.
Jupiter 2: The Robinsons’ ship/home base.
Resolute: A large spacecraft that was set to serve as a long-term home base while humans made the trek from the dying Earth to Alpha Centauri.

1. The Robinson family is stranded on an unknown planet, and their little survival pod grows to include a woman calling herself Dr. Smith and mechanic Don West. They reunite with other people who escaped Resolute, but all are stuck because their ships have been depleted of fuel.

2. Smith proves that she’s willing to do whatever it takes to survive, no matter who it hurts: She abandons Don; in her work as a therapist, she subtly encourages another woman to mistrust and attack Robot; she kidnaps Maureen.

3. Will befriends Robot, who becomes fiercely protective of his human companion. However, when Will fears Robot may be a danger to humanity — thanks to Smith’s manipulation — he has the machine walk to its death.

4. Though they start the mission estranged, Maureen and John ultimately reunite (after numerous near-death experiences).

5. Robot, now under the control of Smith, attacks the Robinsons, but comes around when a second robot threatens Will. The Resolute, which had saved a number of the stranded people, returns for the Robinsons. Unfortunately, the Jupiter starts acting strangely, and a black hole–like entity — summoned by the Jupiter’s alien space engine — sucks them in and leaves them entirely lost.
Ok, so where are the Robinsons, actually?
How much time will they actually spend in space?
What shenanigans does Smith have up her sleeve?
Can Robot be trusted?
