Five years have passed since the mysterious disappearance of Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies), and the residents of the small English town of Little Kilton believe that her boyfriend, Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni), killed her before also killing himself. But in A Good Girl’s Guide to Murderbased on the popular trilogy of novels by Holly Jackson — 17-year-old Pippa Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers) still has questions about Andie’s disappearance and intends to find out what really happened.

In the first eight minutes of the series, the astute and determined Pip — who’s so honest she can’t even stand to cover for her friends while they buy alcohol with a fake ID — tells her friend Cara Ward (Asha Banks) that she believes Sal deserves to be redeemed. “The whole world thinks Sal Singh is guilty, but he never had a trial and they never even found Andie’s body,” she says.

There’s just one question, then: Who killed Andie Bell? Because, as Pip points out, if it wasn’t Sal, “Whoever it was might still be out there.”

“I’m thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream,” Myers told Tudum earlier this year. “Whether you’ve read the books or not, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it.”

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, which was commissioned by the BBC and produced by Moonage Pictures, in co-production with ZDFneo and Netflix, debuted in the UK and Ireland earlier this month and will sleuth its way onto Netflix Aug. 1.
