Former TV producer Ippei invites his late sister's husband and children to live with him in a bid to boost his reputation and win a local election.

On Makabe's advice, Ippei seeks to gain the support of an influential local figure, whose son happens to be a teacher at Asahi's preschool.

After Ippei learns that Himari has been absent from school, he and Makabe plot to curry favor with the PTA by showing support for truant students.

After eating at Miyako's bistro with Shosuke and the kids, Ippei decides to start a cafeteria for children in need and asks Miyako to help.

The preschool where Shosuke works gets an ambitious new principal, but five already dissatisfied teachers quit. Makabe sees an opportunity for Ippei.
